The new home of DARE Programmes
Delivering life skills and drug education across the UK.
Life Skills Education C.I.C. is a national community interest company based in Nottinghamshire whose work is well embedded in the East Midlands, London and within Ministry of Defence and military bases in the UK and abroad.
Our aim is to develop and deliver a range of educational resources to help children and young people acquire and use the knowledge, understanding and skills that equip them to live safe, healthy and productive lives in a world where drugs are common place.
The DARE programmes first started in America in 1983, and are the product of DARE International, one of the most experienced and proactive drugs education organisations of its kind.
There is now a range of DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) programmes designed for delivery in the UK to young people aged 9 to 16. The programmes are delivered by Life Skills Education C.I.C. staff, all of whom are specially selected and trained former Police Officers, and/or teachers and serving Police Officers who have received DARE facilitator training by Life Skills Education C.I.C.
Life Skill Education C.I.C. have a customised agreement with ASDAN, a charitable social enterprise with awarding body status which has resulted in an ASDAN credit rating for the full range of DARE programmes. ASDAN also recognises the professional development of those that have received the DARE facilitator training with a certificate of achievement.
