About Life Skills Education Charity
Life Skills Education is a national registered Charity holding the sole license for the development and delivery of D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) drug and life skills education programmes in the U.K. and its dependent territories. Its work is well embedded in the East Midlands, the City of London, Ministry of Defence and military bases in the UK and abroad.
We aim to develop and deliver a range of educational resources to help children and young people develop the competencies and interpersonal skills they need to live safe, healthy and productive lives in a world where drugs are commonplace. To date we have worked with over 350,000 young people across the East Midlands, London and at MOD bases abroad.
D.A.R.E. was founded in 1983 in Los Angeles and has proven so successful it is now being implemented in 75% of U.S. school districts and in more than 43 countries worldwide. D.A.R.E. programmes have been in the U.K. since 1994 and as proof that schools still recognise their value, over 250 schools in the UK purchase a D.A.R.E. programme every year.
