We offer a range of training sessions to help you deliver Life Skills Education courses. In order to teach DARE Primary, Keepin it REAL or DARE Active you will need to have some knowledge of how young people learn together with an understanding of a variety of teaching methods – all of this can be included in the training if needed.
Our training to deliver Life Skills Education courses will give you the knowledge that you need in order to deliver our courses with confidence. We will give you an understanding of the programme requirements together with up to date information on drugs and alcohol. Once you have completed your training support is available from our Training Manager on any aspect of the programme or delivery, should you need it.
The length of any training to deliver Life Skills Education courses will depend on your individual requirements, but for individuals with teaching/training knowledge and experience this would be between 3 and 7 hours. We are able to travel to you to deliver training if required; for teaching staff planning to teach the DARE Primary course, you have the opportunity to join the first day of our annual DARE Officer training course.
We offer a half day 'conversion training' course for those teachers who have taught DARE in the past. For those that haven't we have the full day training schedule.
Either way we aim to fully equip teachers and schools in the delivery of our Primary programme.
Full day training courses include all printed materials, lunch and refreshments.
We offer training courses to support those organisations with officers and / or staff already involved in enforcement, training, teaching, coaching and mentoring young people in schools and the community. This can be to deliver any of our primary or secondary programmes.
The courses accommodate a maximum of 15 students and are scheduled for dates agreed in advance. The length of the course will range from 5 to 10 days dependent upon the number, experience and qualifications of those attending and will be negotiated with the commissioning organisation.
If you are looking to deliver any of our programmes and would like to know more about the training involved please get in touch with us on 0300 111 3273.

We do not have set locations for our training days although they are more commonly held in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. We are also happy to come out to individual schools and provide on site training. We usually request that at least 2 staff are trainined in this situation.
