The Mentor-ADEPIS Quality Standard - ‘Delivering effective alcohol and drug education in the classroom as part of a planned programme of PSHE.’
Thank you for taking the time to complete this Quality Standard based assessment of the D.A.R.E. programme.
The Mentor-ADEPIS standards have been designed to help primary and secondary schools, independent practitioners and anyone else delivering alcohol and drug education, in formal or informal environments, to shape the context and delivery of that education. The standards draw on national and international evidence for what is effective and have been subject to wide consultation with practitioners. They focus on what happens in the classroom and provide specific recommendations to ensure the provision of effective alcohol and drug education.
In order to evaluate the design and content of the D.A.R.E. programme as well as the quality of its delivery; whether it be by teacher, D.A.R.E. Officer or other facilitator, we would be obliged if you could assess to what degree you feel each of the quality standards have been met.
The following online questionnaire provides examples of how schools and facilitators may evidence meeting the set of Quality Standards. Examples of evidence are provided for each standard but it is stressed that these are indicative, not prescriptive and you can add to them as necessary in the box provided.
The information you provide will be used to evaluate the quality of the programme, the various delivery styles and assist us in our continued process of quality assurance and programme development.
